Toluca Lake Living

A Community Oasis

Once a private ranch noted for its peach, apple, and walnut orchards, Toluca Lake is now a prosperous upscale community, celebrated for its beautiful homes, upscale boutiques, eclectic restaurants and thriving businesses. Yet this secluded community still manages to retain its “small-town” appeal with its tranquil, family-friendly ambience.

What neighbors are saying

As someone who grew up in Toluca Lake, it’s no surprise that after living all over the world and East Coast, I find myself once again a resident. You have all the advantages of living in the bustle of LA, mixed with a small town feel. Truly nothing like this small pocket in any other big city.

We enjoy living in Toluca Lake because it’s a friendly, walkable neighborhood with great local amenities and easy access to the rest of the city.
— Kevin & John
We love living in Toluca Lake! In two words: walkable neighborhood. Living in Toluca Lake is the best of all worlds: you have the small town feeling as you can literally walk to a variety of great restaurants, boutique shops and services and don’t have to get in your car all weekend, and you always feel safe doing so. We also love being so accessible to the “bigger city” with loads of options to get to downtown LA or over to the Westside if and when we have to leave our neighborhood in paradise!

Rich History

The word Toluca is derived from a Paiute word for “fertile” or “beautiful” valley and, at one time, Greater Toluca Lake was part of a Native American village named Kawenga. In fact, Campo de Cahuenga, a historical site located in what is now Universal City, was where Lieutenant Colonel John C. Fremont and General Andres Pico signed the Treaty of Cahuenga, ending the war between Mexico and the United States in 1874.
