The Workshops
The first 1-hour session focuses on identifying unique character strengths of the team members as well as identifying traits they would like to grow and how each player’s individual awareness of character strength contributes to the success of the team.
The second one-hour session focuses on developing a growth mindset. This workshop is designed to increase the student-athlete’s awareness of their reactions to difficult situations and give them a new framework to approach challenges, so they can respond in a productive, caring, and constructive way.

With a background in nonprofits and a passion for youth empowerment, Maret is focused on creating access to the workshop series for all young athletes in the San Fernando Valley.
The Student-Athlete Character Workshop Series was developed in partnership by the Thrive in Joy Nick Fagnano and SRM Real Estate Group.
Thrive in Joy Nick Fagnano Foundation has presented these workshops over the past two years to a diverse audience of youth organizations and schools including the Greater Los Angeles Region of Multiplying Good Students in Action, USC Hybrid High in South Los Angeles, Notre Dame High School, foster youth at Pacific Lodge Youth Services, and students at Tia Tatiana School in the Dominican Republic.
The Thrive in Joy Nick Fagnano Foundation’s mission is to encourage character development and a passion for service in young people through programs inspired by the life of Nick Fagnano (Notre Dame High School class of 2012 and four years on the NDHS Knights Baseball team).
