Case Study: How We Helped a Young Couple Upgrade to a Larger Home for Their Expanding Family

The Clients

The Goal
At the time they signed on with us, Brandon and Emily were expecting a second child. Their starter home no longer met their needs, so they were looking to sell their current home and upgrade to a bigger house with a pool.
With a new baby right around the corner, it was important to find a new home quickly and reduce the out-of-pocket costs as much as possible.
The Outcome
Selling
We started the process by putting together a sales and marketing plan for their current home. They received multiple offers and sold the house for over the asking price. Thanks to our flat-fee model, Brandon and Emily saved $7,750 in commissions on the sale.
The home sold so quickly that they weren’t able to close on their new home before the sale was finalized. That wasn’t an issue, though, because the SRM team was able to negotiate a leaseback with the new buyers. The terms were favorable and allowed Brandon and Emily to stay in their existing residence until they closed on their new home.
This solution alleviated a lot of stress for the family, who were concerned about upending their everyday lives by having to find a short-term rental.
Buying
Brandon and Emily found a home that met all their needs—including the pool! They would have more than enough room for Cooper, the new baby, and Lincoln to run around and play.
As is typical in this market, they were competing against several other buyers. But with our extensive experience, we helped them put together a solid offer and they were the winning buyers! This was in part because of our ability to pre-approve the couple through our in-house mortgage company. They also received a $10,000 buyer rebate from SRM Real Estate Group.
In the end, Brandon and Emily saved $17,750 by buying, selling, and financing through our firm. We helped them upgrade to a home that will meet all their needs as they expand their family.
